HMO To Pay $41 Million for Cheating Customers
In New Jersey, Health Net, an HMO (Health Maintenance Organization) has agreed to pay claims and fines for shortchanging 88,000 customers during a 10 year period between 1996 and 2006. New Jersey State Officials claim that Health Net underpaid claims to reimburse patients for out of network health services.
It is good that this insurance company got caught for trying to cheat customers. The insurance industry is big money business. Companies will do anything to increase their profits.
